  • Here’s our entryway, one of the most frequently accessed part of the flat. When we did our renovations, we bought a Philips Digital Door Viewer doorbell and got it installed to replace the default BTO door viewer. As someone who does quite a lot of online shopping, this door viewer is a game-changer. Serving also as a doorbell from the other side of the door, both the husband and I will receive a call on our mobile whenever someone pressed the doorbell and we can communicate with the person at the door through the phone (in case we are not at home). In addition, the doorbell-door viewer is also motion sensor enabled can starts recording short clips whenever motion is detected outside the door. We can also view what’s happening outside the door in real-time through our mobile phone. This device is both a reliable and indispensable part of our lifestyle!
  • Here’s a closeup of the doorviewer-doorbell. Besides controlling the device remotely through our mobile phones, we can also manage the controls through the LCD panel which offers a larger and real-time display of the view outside. Fun fact: We can also choose a voice-changing option to change our voices to something unrecognisable like a male voice from a female and a few random voices, although this is a feature we haven’t found an opportunity to use yet!
  • Welcome to our drinks bar! This is one of our favourite part of the flat where we head to in the mornings for coffee and a cup of warm water & at night before we wind down for bed. The theme for the flat also revolves around making the home feel like a cafe and the drinks bar is one of the key features of the design.
  • Mornings would not be complete without coffee! We have a nespresso lattissima touch machine (discontinued) for those morning shots in a jiffy. Simply pop, click and go. Mornings would not be the same without it!
  • One of our most frequently used appliances is this Bruno Water Dispenser. Every morning, we make ourselves a warm cup of water by selecting the 50 degrees temperature. When we want to make ourselves a cup of tea, we select the 80 or 100 degrees celsius temperature for a perfect brew. The variable temperature selection and the auto-stop feature when the water volume reaches a mug-full makes mornings extra convenient. All we have to do is to place our favourite mugs, select a temperature , press a button and we can move on to the next task. Once the mug is full, the machine stops dispensing automatically.
  • Besides our drinks bar, we have our Samsung side-by-side fridge which holds everything we need. As avid cooks, we love stocking up on groceries, fresh produce, drinks and more.
  • Opening a side-by-side fridge door is like opening an open wardrobe, you can see everything all at once. When it comes to designing our kitchen, fitting a large fridge was part of our wants right from the start and we are grateful to be able to make it work in a 93sqm flat. This appliance has become a part of our lifestyle as the Mrs loves making bentos and the large fridge is able to hold everything she needs!
  • Speaking of avid cooks, another indispensable appliance in our home is this dishwasher which sits in our service yard snugly beside our washing machine. This is the utilitarian side of our service yard where things get washed, cleaned and dried. The dishwasher not only helps us to save time but it also saves a massive load of water as compared to hand washing! Thanks to this nifty appliance, we have more time and mental capacity to whip up delicious and healthier meals at home. Here’s a tip: Utilise the surface top of your dishwasher by placing a dish drying rack for extra drying space. Plus the sides to store things like kitchen paper towels and disposable sink covers (as we did) with magnetic organisation solutions.
