  • Hello y’all! Hi from the Chans :) For our last post on Season 7 we will share about our bomb shelter. Not many people share about their bomb shelters because it’s usually a hidden mess, or clutter! Our bomb shelter is hidden right behind this tic tac door. Without further ado, let’s go!
  • Welcome to this huge mess 😂 we made an unorthodox decision to install 2 single racks instead of a L-shaped one. Reason being, we don’t want the first impression to be a full on rack view. We also wanted to decorate the empty wall in the centre to make the bomb shelter more welcoming, but truth to be told, it’s the least important to us right now. 🤭
  • On the left rack, we mainly store house essentials such as toilet rolls, tissues, body soap and shampoo etc. We have at least 3 months worth of essentials because when the price is right, and with good vouchers, we buy! I don’t like to wait till supplies are running out and panic buy at full price. On the top shelves we have our daughter’s items from our previous place. We intend to store it that way and declutter or donate them away once we hit the 1-year mark.
  • Closer view on this level!
  • The rack on the right is neater because we used more storage boxes to categorise. They are less used items like festive decorations, paper bags etc. Also the top shelves are my daughter’s stationeries, clothes and toys once again 😂 small human, big space. On both racks the bottoms shelves are mostly renovation items like leftover paint, tiles etc. In the big pink tote bag are the empty bottles I’m keeping for recycling purposes. They’re more than 2 years worth. 😱
  • These storage boxes come with lids but apparently the decorations are getting out of hand!
  • One last thing on our bomb shelter was the decision to install a Taobao light + fan. It makes digging for items less challenging and ventilates the whole area well! The light is also adjustable! Just reminder if you’re getting the light from Taobao, do remember to get an adapter.
  • One last photo on the power point in our bomb shelter. We don’t even use this power point because we have no idea what to do with it. What do you do with the bomb shelter power point? Let me know in the comments! I hope you enjoyed our post on our bomb shelter! See you in Season 8! :)
