  • Welcome to our simple and cosy bedroom that has gone through many changes over the past year as our family grew! ☁️ Before we moved in 5 years ago, we bought the necessary furniture and furnishings (bed frame, dresser, side table, mattress, picture ledge, light/night lamp, curtain rod and curtains) for a bedroom and slowly styled the space with decor over the years. Come on in as we show you how our small bedroom transformed with our growing needs, yet remained warm and cosy with thoughtful decor styling here and there! 😌
  • When you enter, you will find… a kitchenette in our bedroom?! 😳 Yes, that’s what we lived with for years because we didn’t want to do any major renovations (hacking) to the original layout of the apartment. In a dual-key apartment, the smaller studio room has a kitchenette with an induction stove and sink. It was an eyesore at first but we covered it up and it was something we could live with. With Little ☁️’s addition last year, this kitchenette area has become a very useful area where we wash and sterilise her bottles. It saves time and energy to go to kitchen to do the washing at night, and it’s also an extra space for these bulky appliances that won’t be able to fit in our small kitchen. The built-in drawers/cabinets are used to store her items - it’s like her little corner and we are so glad we have this “extra” and “unconventional” area in our bedroom in our current season! 🥹
  • When our queen bed was just nice for 2… Note to new homeowners: Our bed frame from Wihardja has a gap at the headboard and it is a design we won’t recommend because our pillows keep slipping into the gap 🥲
  • We knew we wanted a picture ledge above the bed from the beginning as it allows for flexibility and creativity of decor styling. 👵🏻 G has itchy hands and can easily change up the decor pieces whenever she feels like it.. 🫢 P.S. A hanging tissue pouch above 👵🏻 G’s side of the bed for her easy reach when her sinus acts up - functional, space-saving and looks cute too!
  • As our bedroom is a high humidity area (we have had the dreadful mould issues before), we can’t have any dried/preserved flowers here without mould growing on them over time so faux flowers are perfect for a pretty touch! 🌼
  • Like most newly minted parents, we excitedly bought a cot for our little one’s arrival and placed it right beside our bed. In our small home where we don’t have another room for a nursery, we set up this little corner in our bedroom to welcome her! ✨
  • Every little thing, bit by bit, put together with love ❤️
  • 🤍 A DIY bunting hand sewn using my late grandmother’s pyjamas - a way to connect her and my little one even though they never get the chance to meet.
  • And today, this is the transformation of our bedroom because we decided to be a co-sleeping family! 🥰 We do miss the sight of our beautiful wooden bed frame but we also love the precious time and cuddles we have as a family in our 3-in-1 bed now ❤️ Afterall it’s only for a season and we know our space will change again in a blink of an eye. We found this simple and sturdy bed rails (Brand: Bolin Bolon) on Carousell, which is a lot more soothing to the eyes compared to the ones with cartoon pictures that are sold on Shopee, so it’s really a win for us as we try to balance functionality and aesthetics with our current family lifestyle.
  • The apartment came with built-in wardrobes that is sufficient space for us. Keeping to what this wardrobe space allows taught us to be more intentional with buying clothes and decluttering when we ran out of space. With the small extra space beside the wardrobe, we customised a dressing table that fits into the width of the side wall so that the space is not wasted.
  • We chose a dressing table with drawers to hide all the clutter and keeps things out of dust.
  • Pretty clips that 👵🏻 G uses which adds to the decor of the vanity area ✨
  • 👀 A little peek into the bathroom that is beside the kitchenette.
  • Our bedroom has ceiling-to-floor sliding doors that open to a little balcony which is under-utilised (but we wish to use more). We did up the balcony when we first moved in but the furniture and decor placed there were prone to wear and tear because of the weather so we ended up cleaning up the space before our little one came. Perhaps if we spruce up the space again, we will share it here! 😌 - We hope you enjoyed walking through our bedroom transformation with us! ✨ From 2 to 2+1 to 3-in-1, we love our simple and cosy bedroom 🤍
