  • Welcome to our living room where we created a cosy and inviting space using warm neutral colors & textures. Less the shelves that are there for fengshui reasons, we went with zero built-ins for our living room so that it will be easier for us to switch things up if we want to in the future. As our house is mainly dark wood with neutral colours, it was not difficult to find loose furniture that matched the theme. Plus majority of our furniture & decor is from Taobao which helped us to save a lot of money compared to purchasing locally.
  • Curved partition wall that we limewashed on our own to make into our living room feature wall. The partition wall also allows us to hide all cables and wires behind the wall for a clutter-free look. We went with Samsung The Frame TV to avoid the issue of reflection from our windows. Also invested in a sound bar for the very first time and highly recommend it to all home owners. Movie nights hits different with better sound quality. Our TV console is also a Castlery dupe we found in JB for a fraction of the price!
  • What is a cosy living room without a cloud-like cosy couch! Add some cushions & throws and lay a plush rug underneath your sofa for the full cosy experience. Rug Pro Tip! When choosing the size of the rug, a good rule of thumb is that it should be longer than the sofa and the rug should extend under at least 1/3 of the sofa. This helps you frame the space better. Day curtains are also the perfect touch to soften any room, gently filtering in natural light while maintaining privacy. As our sofa, rug & curtains are white & cream coloured, we went with a just-so-sightly darker beige for our living room wall to add depth.
  • With the limited space in between our TV console and sofa, putting a coffee table in the middle would make the space look much smaller so were happy to have found our practical yet still aesthetic solution. Works as a side table when used vertically and as a mini coffee table when used horizontally, this is perfect for small living rooms as it can be easily kept aside when not in use.
  • We fell in love with the unique scent of this candle from a Korean fragrance brand while we were travelling and knew we had to bag this home for our new house. This is now the official scent of Our Kohsy Home and is the first thing that greets you the moment you come through the door. Adding candle warmers to your living room is a great & safe way to create a cosy space as the candle fragrance adds a layer of comfort and relaxation while the warm lights create an inviting ambiance.
  • Stick around for the next couple of weeks as we continue sharing more in-depth about our home's layout and how the different rooms in our house were created with our lifestyle in mind.
