  • Hey everyone, welcome to the entryway of @paradisefalls.mj! ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ Read on to find our more about how we made this high footfall space both functional & aesthetic :)
  • Full Height Fluted Panel: We decided to install this because of feng shui reasons. A screen of some sort was an alternative solution provided by the feng shui master when we voiced our concerns about the initial advice given.
We didn’t want something too bulky here, so we decided to go with a fluted panel, which also doubles up as a feature wall & gives us more privacy when we leave our main door open ✨
Full-height Cabinets with Bottom Cut-out: No regrets for the large storage space we get to enjoy here! We store manyyyy things here — shoes, socks, hats/caps, bags of all sizes, grocery bags, paper/plastic bags, bubble wraps, tools & knick knacks (toolbox, stationery, etc), board games, DIY materials, etc and we still have lots of empty space in them after all these! 🤭 We specifically requested to have a bottom cut-out (see previous photo) so that we can air our frequently worn shoes while having them neatly tucked away 👟 We chose not to have any carpentry base so that we can slide our shoes in and out & vacuum the floor easily.
  • Full-length Niche: The only open display area of our home for now!! This is mainly because we didn’t want to be overly stressed about having to dust too many surfaces & items (dust accumulates faster than we think 😮‍💨) but still want to have a little corner for a curated display.
We placed a catch-all bowl here to drop off our keys, cards, etc neatly :) We also used the sample fluted panel pieces given by our ID as part of our entryway decor, can you see them? 🤭
  • AA Tracks:
We installed full-height AA tracks so that we can adjust the height of each shelf to our needs, and it’s a decision that has come in very handy for us! P.S. AA tracks usually requires a top-up, but our ID kindly included it as a free item when we requested to install them 🥹
  • Non-built-in Wooden Bench:
We knew we wanted a seating area to wear our shoes, but we didn’t want a permanent carpentry for 3 main reasons:
 1. In case we ever need to cater more space for moving large furniture in and out, we can easily remove the bench (though we haven’t had to do this so far!)
 2. The bench can double up as an extra seating area when we have many guests over
3. It can be used for exercise (which explains why we chose one that is made of solid wood 🪵)
  • Hidden Mirror:
Initially, we thought of installing a large full-height & length mirror near the entryway so that we can do a final check before leaving the house & double it up as a mini dance corner 🩰
However, our feng shui master advised against having any exposed mirror near the entryway, so we rolled with this option instead, and we have no regrets about it! :)
  • Door Wrap for Main Door:
We wrapped our main door for a more cohesive aesthetic! The original colour was a bright orange, which didn’t fit our home aesthetics 🫠
SlideArm Door Stopper: Instead of a traditional wall-hung door stopper, we went with a SlideArm, which allows the door to stop at a fixed point. The fixed point can be easily adjusted :)
  • And that’s all for our entryway tour! We hope this has given you some ideas on designing this area in your home — the first space that welcomes you when you’re home, and the last you’re in before leaving your nest 😊
