  • Happy Lunar New Year from my home to yours 🧧🐍✨ You’re looking at my humble entryway which consists of a limewash wall painted by J&J (yes that’s us 🤪) which houses our household shelter, as well as a simple rattan stool. Come along & we’re excited to share our limewash DIY journey 👩🏻‍🎨🧑🏻‍🎨
  • Starting at our gate, we have a doormat, bench & video doorbell. The doorbell is really helpful for us to communicate for deliveries etc! ✨ DIY Idea: featuring our 2nd DIY project where we painted the original HDB BTO gate from silver to matte black! We used Nippon Bodelac 9000 High Gloss Enamel Paint & spent less than $50 for the paint, brushes & drop sheets 🤪 More info on my TikTok: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS6WKhg39/
  • You’ll be greeted by our cozy Japandi living room once you step in 🏠 we shared more about it in our previous post - be sure to catch it! On the right, you’ll see our proud limewash DIY! The maximum depth of the household shelter to our main door was only 20cm so we felt it’s not worth it to line it with carpentry since there’s no space for storage. Hence, we used a MDR Board to create the ‘wall’ that covers our household shelter.
  • Here’s sharing our DIY journey from two years ago! We got our limewash powder from Aratamete & it’s from the brand - Kalklitir. I had such a hard time deciding on the colour as there’s so many shades! In the end, we decided to mix two of our favourites to create a unique limewash shade :) no regrets on this ✌🏻 More info on my TikTok: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS6WwUF4A/ *prices are two years ago
  • Ngl it took us two half days as we painted two coats inclusive of time in between to let the paint dry! It’s tiring as you gotta mix the powder & water, as well as paint continuously in X strokes 😅 but if you ask me now, I’ll do it again in a heartbeat! I love that we have a part to play in building our own home & it’s an experience I’ll never forget 💛
  • Here’s a photo after the first coat! You can see the X strokes quite prominently here but I’ll say it gets better after the second coat :) and yes it’s giving ✨ wabi-sabi vibes ✨ if I say so myself 🤪
  • You can see the final results here! 🥰 We are still so in love with it after two years so I’ll definitely recommend! The door is a tic tac door that houses our household shelter. On the left, we have a mirror for fit checks & on the right we have a 60cm length niche to display knickknacks! At the bottom, we had our ID create a niche to put our everyday sandals for easy access!
  • Here’s a closeup of our entryway niche. The Legrand Galion (Champagne Gold) switches are the first thing I reach out for when I’m home - be it to turn on the entryway lights or the fan in the living room. The location is *chef’s kiss* & I love that I have a small display niche for my crafts & scents 💛 Reno tip: If you have a display niche, use cove lights to brighten the area! It’s modern & sleek too :) That’s all I have for my entryway! Would you DIY a part of your home? I’d love to know ✌🏻
