  • Hello everyone! This is what our simple and welcoming entryway looks like. When we get home at night, as we have a smart home system in place (much thanks to my husband for setting it up!!!), we can just say "hey siri, I'm home" and it will light up the house according to what we had preset, I can even choose for Siri to play my playlist to make myself feel relaxed the moment I step in haha.
  • We have a full length mirror just before the fluted glass panel divider to check our outfits before we head out and to also take mirror selfies :) We added a bit of (artificial) green to liven up the space.
  • This is our main door, and we love the moon-like texture wrap as the HDB original main door design just did not fit the vibes of our home. Instead of replacing the entire door, it was cheaper to just choose an aesthetic door wrap. We also went for a digital lock for both our main door and gate so that we did not need to bring any keys out, yay! We can ensure that our gate and door are both locked through our smart home system even when we are nowhere near home.
  • We have a digital door viewer that allows us to see who is outside in real time, it alerts us when there are people at our door or rings the doorbell etc through our smart home system which is super convenient and secure :)
  • The moment we step in, on the left, there is a big glass pane that looks into the kitchen :) Besides opening up the space visually, this is very useful for us to see who is stepping in when we are doing stuff in the kitchen.
  • Below the glass panel, there is a built in shoe cabinet, we laminated it in the same walnut wood laminate as our kitchen to standardize the look of our carpentry.
  • We placed some decor items as well as a small plate to hold the small items that we need before we head out - such as our wedding bands :p
  • I remember there were a few people including delivery people that saw our entryway tiles when they stepped in and said that they really liked the distinction between the entryway and living area. We really like it too! This is the distinction for us between the "dirty“ and "clean" areas haha, meaning that everyone needs to remove their footwear within the rough tiles.
  • On the other side of our entryway, we have a cabinet that stores our db box and we have used the same laminate here as well. We customized another built in carpentry with the same dimensions to make use of the space :) In the cabinet on the top, we put stuff like tissue, masks and umbrellas which we can easily grab before we leave the house. We are also able to fit our vacuum and some cleaning supplies in the bottom cabinet.
  • Beside the built-in carpentry - we have this cute little bench that we can sit on when putting on shoes or our guests can also put their bags here when they come over. This bench is lovingly handmade by my father-in-law and it's just so awesome that he even did the curved parts for us and painted it in a colour that fits well in our home.
  • And this is what you see when you stand at our entryway :) That's all for this post, thank you as always for reading! You can always find us at @aiyacanna on Instagram if you want to find out more about our home or talk to us about anything related to home renovation or home decor.
