  • Hello from our Home Office, where missus hustles throughout the week, and mister occasionally joins in to work together! The study room / home office is usually one of the hardest space to keep uncluttered because there's lots of wires, gadgets and documents laying around hence many people would prefer to keep the doors closed. We chose to remove the walls (and door) to have the space connected, while (trying) to keep things as minimal as possible. We built our Home office in our common bedroom that is right next to our Living room. The idea of Arch in the wall idea came about as we had a structural wall right in the middle of our living room, thus we were unable to entirely remove the wall in between the rooms! We love the arch that became a feature in our living room, giving us privacy and accessibility at the same time.
  • This is how our Home office looks like most of the time, we tried to keep things minimal as we want this to be a conducive space to work. We got our adjustable table from taobao and we decided to get a 2m long desk to share! This desk also came with a sintered stone top which makes cleaning so easy. We also got matchy secretlab chairs to match. Oh, protection mat is super important especially if your floors are vinyl.
  • Our adjustable table that we hardly use to work while standing... but it is great because secretlab chairs cannot fit into the usual study desk, so we could adjust our desk to fit our chairs right in!
  • To keep our home office well ventilated, we installed insect screens from @irusu.sg! This not only keeps out insects, but also dust!
  • This fluted cabinet that we got off Taobao was a shoe cabinet, but we use it as a storage cabinet to house our stationaries and planting tools! This is also where we display our plant babies, adding a little life to the our home office!
  • We also installed blinds instead of curtains here and we automated it with a smart roller blinds controller by Tuya. In our Tuya app, we also set Scenes to automate Working mode, where our home office lights smart lights will turn on and our blinds would go down half height for the most conducive working ambience. We love that we have a dedicated home office that is connected yet seperated from our living space, and we hope this post is useful for your home office planning if you are thinking to open up one bedroom for your study room/ home office too! Do check us out on ig @eugohome_ where we shared about what we cooked, shopped and share about our home, Thanks for reading!
