  • Hello there, welcome to our kitchen! When designing our home, we knew the kitchen would be the heart of it all. To make it feel more open and inviting, we hacked the entrance to be wider. Originally, it was only a narrow passage. This view is from the entrance and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Our door supplier did a fantastic job by recommending us with slide and swing door which allow us to fully open up, making the space feel larger, yet functional when we want it close when doing heavy cooking. Mister also insisted on an island where we can have a quick breakfast on a busy morning or just want to chill out in the kitchen. The island height was adjusted to be the same as the counter top as we feel it fits a smaller kitchen better. This layout has truly enhanced our everyday moments. I still remember when we first had guests over, everyone naturally gravitated toward the island. It became the heart of the gathering, so we added chairs around it for coffee and chitchat. The corner fan even provided a nice breeze as we sat there, making the space feel even cozier and more welcoming.
  • One thing we learned during the process was that layout decisions sometimes come with trade-offs. We initially wanted a big fridge, but as the layout came together, we realized a larger fridge would require more space for the doors to swing open. So, we chose an average-sized fridge.
  • Feat our trusty Xiao Bai (rice cooker), Xiao Hei (airfryer), and Xiao Hong (chopper)
  • Step inside our kitchen, where every detail is designed with thought and love! 💖 From this angle, you’ll spot one of our favorite hidden gems—our dishwasher! Discreetly tucked away behind cabinetry, it blends seamlessly into the design, keeping the space sleek and clutter-free. Can you even tell it’s there? 😉 And then there’s our kitchen island, a cozy setup for two, where we can sit face-to-face, sharing coffee, laughter, and endless conversations.
  • The view from the living room into the kitchen. Also, I got my little one a kitchen. Now I have two kitchens to clean.. greaaat...
