  • Thank you for stopping by to check out our kitchen post! We’re excited to share more details about our kitchen with you in this post! As you enter our kitchen, the deep, matte green cabinets might be the first thing you notice - they exude a calming, grounding presence, lending the space a quiet elegance. It’s a colour that subtly stands out, leaving a lasting impression without demanding attention. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find more details on the brand of the laminate used. The cabinet doors are crafted from solid plywood with ABS edging.
  • We aimed for a space that feels modern yet remains warm and inviting. The black subway tile backsplash ties everything together with its timeless yet contemporary appeal. We’ve added a few decorative elements to keep the space from feeling too stark. Above the stove, the stainless steel range hood serves a dual purpose, not only providing functionality but also holding a few decorative items that add a touch of personality to the room. On the right, you’ll notice our red wall clock with the phrase "You'll Never Walk Alone." Even though it doesn’t quite match the overall theme, we couldn’t resist placing 💁🏻‍♂️'s favorite Liverpool clock in the kitchen. We read online that having a clock in the kitchen can attract positive energy and even wealth - if positioned correctly - so we decided to go for it!
  • In this cozy corner of our kitchen, we’ve created a small, recessed nook that serves as a hidden gem for storing our kitchen essentials. It’s a great way to keep the countertop clear and uncluttered while still having everything we need within easy reach. We added a little curtain to cover the space. It softens the look of all the hard surfaces and adds a personal touch that we really love. It’s amazing how something as simple as a little fabric can change the feel of a space!
  • Let’s talk about one of my favourite little features in our kitchen - this clever pull-out drawer. We decided to use this drawer to organise our placemats and kitchen linens, keeping them neatly tucked away but super easy to grab when we need them. Here’s a tip if you’re planning a kitchen renovation: consider adding pull-out drawers like this one. They’re a game changer for keeping things organized and it is much easier to see and access everything without rummaging through a deep cabinet.
  • On the left, our tall cabinets incorporate the refrigerator, which we’ve adorned with a collection of magnets. The cabinetry continues to the right, neatly framing our built-in oven and accommodating our microwave as a separate, standalone piece. We love how these appliances are integrated into the cabinets, keeping the overall look clean and help save counter space. We’ve drawers in different heights to neatly store all our cookware, utensils and kitchen essentials. Also, every drawer features soft-closing mechanisms. Ideally, we’d love to install a pocket door to tuck the microwave away completely to maintain seamless look of the kitchen. It’s definitely something we’re considering for our future home!
  • We opted for an open kitchen concept because we’re not heavy cooks, but we do enjoy preparing simple meals from time to time. We also hacked the wall separating our kitchen and service yard, allowing more natural light to flood in. This added brightness balances our black backsplash and dark-toned built-ins. Thanks for reading! We hope you enjoyed this little tour of our kitchen area. xx
