  • Storytime! Before moving in, I was shopping around on Shopee alot. I actually added to cart (y'know, without carting out) plenty of items in very neutral tones, like a wooden tissue box cover, pillowcases that are in the same shade of the sofa and rugs that are cream or off-white. Then, I chanced upon the Beige moms' Tiktoks and realised that taking colours out of living spaces can be quite gloomy (for the lack of a better word). So, all of a sudden, I was inspired that against the neutral oakwood laminates/vinyls as the backdrop, colours can make our living spaces uniquely ours! So, here are some colours we injected in the smaller items. First, our cushion covers and tissue covers come in coordinated colours! I absolutely loved the tissue box cover, there are plenty of colours and fabric types to choose from in the shop!
  • The coasters were something I crocheted during my morning commute of 1.5hours in 2023. Unknowingly, I guess I was already drawn to the colours of purple, green and yellow because these were all done for the home long before we even bought anything else. Also, the kitty phone stand proved to be useful and extremely sturdy! Something functional AND cute? I'm in!
  • I always thought I just wanted a plain rug until I saw this Klasrum Rug in real life and it was love at first sight. The husband was extremely doubtful because the off white rug was only $39 and this was $99. No regrets, because I loveeeee the vibe it added to our room! The only gripe is I wish it comes in a bigger size because it is not the most proportionate to the size of our sofa heh.
  • Let me take some time to share about this very first frame we got for our place! We got this piece of work very early on after getting married. Back then, we haven't even started renovations yet but we knew we wanted to get a piece of art that represents what we believe in. Firstly, our faith. And secondly, the artist and cause of this work who created this unique LeLe font, who reminds us about finding joy in simplicity. Both topics are extremely close to my heart. But anyway, Jun Le Fonts has soooo many beautiful pieces and merchandise so feel free to check them and many other social enterprises out!
  • This is an acrylic mirror that reflects different colours of the room depending on which angle you stand on. We got it for our wedding and love it so much to just give it a permanent spot in the house.
  • Last one, this IKEA Dejsa table lamp was rather plain at first, so we tied our wedding corsage around it to brighten it up. The corsage is a preserved flower set that withstood the movements of the day and is now reused as a decorative piece (unlike the fresh flower boutonniere that did not even last a walk). Highly recommend it! It was somehow must cheaper too. Check out @bloomsinthewoods because they do really beautiful colours there. That's about some of the colours and decor of our living room. Hope your week will be as joyful like pops of colours!
