  • Welcome back in! Next up is our Living Room, where G & I spend most of our time lounging & hanging out together. Our idea for the Living Room is to keep it simple, clutter-free and as low maintenance as possible. If you're wondering why our furniture are neatly tucked away, it's because we planned all these with our Robot vacuum in mind!
  • We also knew we didn't want any built-in TV console or carpentry in the Living Room as we wanted to keep the space flexible to change up the decorations in the future. So the only costs incurred for renovating this space was to flush the original uneven wall & create an Arch wall for our travel photo frames!
  • Here's a zoomed out look from our main entrance and how our Arch wall looks when placed right in front of the half-glass partition in Study room. Love the colour match for both laminated shelves & glass frame!
  • It took our ID 2-3 tries to perfect the Arch shape & we did pay a lot more attention during renovation to ensure this turns out well because this is 1/2 of our statement pieces in this space. Also.. it wasn't cheap either! G was initially against the idea of building this Arch wall due to its cost, but eventually said he love it after seeing the Render muahaha If you noticed, our Arch wall is not super rounded at the top because we wanted a more rustic farmhouse vibe, and also to align the roundness to the wall curves at Entryway and Dining space. No regrets building this!
  • The next statement piece of our Living Room have got to be this Green sofa which we searched high and low for! We literally took our green carpentry laminate samples & compared against all green colour palette sofa under white & warm lights to find this perfect shade.
  • The search took us some time because we also wanted our sofa to have manual recliner on both sides, half leather, affordable, and have sufficient neck and back support. So this is really the perfect sofa for us! It's no surprise why G & I are permanently lounging here because we each have our own reclining chair hehe (like Chandler & Joey!).
  • We also really love this TV console that we got from Taobao! It took us quite some time to comb through Taobao and check in with sellers on the dimensions, height, colour and if it's customisable to allow for opening at the back.
  • If you're wondering why this was a challenge for us, it's because we added more electrical sockets in this area so it became especially long! If we had purchased a TV console without an opening at the back, we would not have been able to efficiently access & use them, and would probably have more wires dangling around. The best part? We're able to lift & slide the glass panel to hide our messy wires when our Guests are here :>
