  • Hello everyone! In today’s post, i’ll be sharing about our renovation decisions that we love and things we wished we could have done better!
  • Our first renovation decision that we love is changing our living room layout. Our living room orientation is unique and something that we adore so much! We chose to put our sofa against the windows and tv opposite, alongside our fake wall. Many people have asked us about the pros and cons of doing so. So yes, let me answer that question! We personally feel that this layout makes the house appear more spacious. We can even fit our 3m sofa perfectly! However, a downside would be that the sun may reflect against the TV during certain timings of the day, causing some difficulties when watching TV.
  • Our solution would then be to draw the day blinds to minimise the sun rays entering.
  • Another renovation decision we love is creating an open kitchen. We don’t really like the idea of having a long narrow kitchen, so hacking the walls was a brilliant move! Our layout is more squarish and we are able to create our kitchen in a way where we can interact with our guests sitting at the living room. We also have lots of open shelves to display our posters/ figurines and have an intimate coffee corner!
  • With all house renovations, there some renovations regrets! Our biggest regret is not installing enough fans in our home. We only have one ceiling fan in the living room which means it can get pretty hot at home. We wished we had planned for more corner fans in the kitchen/ dining area so that cooking/ eating at the dining area will be cooler. We will definitely consider this thoroughly for our next home! Thanks for reading!
