We spent an afternoon rearranging our living room furniture and are loving the new look! It feels more spacious and comfortable now.

This was how it looked like previously. It wasn't ideal because the distance between the TV and the sofa was too near and didn't make for a comfortable viewing experience. I was also simply getting bored of the look.
Having the dining table beside the window was always something I'd wanted to try. I knew that this spot had the best lighting in our home with the morning light coming through here and it was being wasted on the TV! It looks so dreamy with the dining table in this spot now and I can also do some product photography here. Perfect.
Next was to figure out where to place the sofa. Naturally, we swapped to the opposite wall, like in this picture.
It looks ok, but the placement of the carpet seems odd now. Previously, it was centred in the middle of the room.
Finally, we tried switching the orientation of the sofa and this seems to be best in terms of comfort! The angle and distance from the TV are good and this has become a very cosy corner with the addition of some wall art! I put a stool beside the sofa as a makeshift side table and will start looking out for an actual side table or perhaps a small coffee table! What do you think? Also placed a long mirror on the floor and will not be mounting it as this might not be its permanent spot. I love how nothing is fixed in its place because this space is very much a work in progress. The carpet still looks off, and we'll probably need to get another rug or two to balance the look a little!
