Refreshing our living space! Styling tips from 2 monkeys 🙉🙊

It’s been a year and a half since we first moved into our new home! As we live in the space, we’ve gradually added more of our personality and fun into the home. We wouldn’t say we’re styling experts, but here’s how we styled our home. 🏠
One of the areas that received an uplift was our sofa in the living room. Although we loved how our sofa created a focal point in the living room, we quickly realised that the colour and size of the sofa makes the entire living space a little dull 😅
To liven the space, we got a throw which has little pops of colour to help brighten the sofa and here’s how it looks! 🛋️ Occasionally we swap out the throws for other items like our McDonald’s blankets or cute cushions for some variety! 💡Tip: Consider getting a throw or cushions to help switch up the colours and mood of your space. Just a simple change in colour can transform the atmosphere!
Another area that got a makeover was our dining space which has a long dining table that can sit up to 8 people and allow us to have a cosy dining experience when our families and friends gather. 🍴However with its length, which is both a pro and a con, meant that the table lacked some visual excitement when not in use.
To bring in some fun, we bought several table mats which instantly created a quirky mood while breaking up the monotony of the table space. 🤩 These table mats make our dining experience more homely and are functional as well, making clean up easier than before! 👍🏼 💡Tip: Table decor does not always mean fresh flowers or fruits, having nice table runners or mats can help to elevate the space and bring some life into an otherwise monotonous space!
As our name suggests, one of the decor motifs that we absolutely love is the banana! 🍌 We have several banana themed items which we’ve either bought or received from friends over the years and they help to create a fun game for guests to spot and notice when they are in our home! Like our favourite Banana Peel door stopper, which have confused many who thought it was a real banana peel! 😆
Spotted at N’s workspace, another banana! This time an Andy Warhol Banana stress reliever our friends gifted us!😻
Discovered by the entryway is J’s banana ecobag for our visits to the local supermart which we have yet to use! (for fear of not being able to stuff the banana back into its peel🤭) To summarise, we think that you don’t need to spend much (maybe even spend nothing) to give your space a new look and feel.
