  • Hi there! In this post, we’ll be showing you the 3D renders for our living room, kitchen and dining area, and why some parts of our home differ from what we initially planned for. [RENDER] Starting with the living room! We initially only wanted to get a TV console, but found that it looked too plain after looking at the render. We later decided to add a feature wall with ambient lighting behind the TV, which also helped to conceal the TV wires! Another thing that the render did not cater for was our Sonos Subs. They are pretty big, so we catered some space (specific to the subs’ measurements) for them.

  • [RENDER] Moving on to the entryway! One thing that stuck out from the render was the main door. After seeing it (and how it clashes with the “clean” aesthetic of the rest of the home, we knew we had to change it, and we are glad we did! Apart from that, we also added a small niche near the seatee area, to place daily use items, and requested for a space beneath the seatee, so we can place our shoes there to air out!

  • [RENDER] As for the kitchen, the most obvious change was the placement of the fridge, sink area and oven. We found that the initial placement of the fridge in the middle made the space look smaller. Process wise, we thought it would made more sense for the fridge to be on the left side too. For example: taking ingredients from the fridge > washing them in the sink > cutting them if needed > cooking them on the hob. Aesthetically, we decided to go with a lighter & cooler toned laminate too, which we think complemented the white and marble tones better!

  • [RENDER] While it would have been nice to put a piece of art on the wall near the kitchen, we eventually decided to install a bifold glass door. We did this to keep in the fumes when we cook, and when we switch on the aircon in the living room! We also decided to not have a door for the service yard, as it is a very small area, and would feel claustrophobic with the door.

  • [RENDER] For the dining room area, the reno turned out pretty similar to the render, except that we requested for the area of the bifold windows to be extended. This helped make the entire area look wider!
  • [REALITY] Thanks for reading, and check out our next post for the renders of our master bedroom and bathrooms! :) IG: @robertslewzaijia
