  • Welcome to our life admin area! This is where we do our laundry, wash our dishes, store our miscellaneous random buys for the home, and sayang our kitten. Basically, a lot of things are done in this space! As this service yard area was originally where the kitchen was, it made sense to then convert it to a laundry area once the kitchen had been shifted out to the living room. Now, it’s somewhat of a divider between our living room and the bathroom area of our home.
  • Here we have our two most used appliances! Our washing machine with dryer function, and our standalone dishwasher. The dishwasher was a recent purchase that we hadn’t planned for originally. As we cook every day and host often, having a dishwasher was a complete lifesaver. Initially, we had been racking our brains on whether we should forgo one of our under cabinets to have a small dishwasher installed. We then decided against it as it would mean extra cost of getting a contractor in. Naturally we pivoted to a more fuss-free standalone unit, which in hindsight was great as we could wash as many as 14 sets of dinnerware in this LG Dishwasher!
  • This was actually the first piece of ‘furniture’ that we got for our home, from Carousell! By then, we knew that the design we were going for was more vintage and old school - so when we saw this on Carousell, we absolutely loved that the cage reminded us of the old school scissor gates. What we soon realised too was that it had wheels, which made it all the more convenient for us! In order to make space for a water area on the countertop, we decided to shift the microwave to our ‘cabinet on wheels’. It’s also where we store our toilet rolls and laundry knick knacks.
  • This bright red trolley from IKEA stood out to us; what initially started out as a need for more storage space, soon became our alcohol storage area/catmin (cat admin) area. We love how the red instantly brightens the space, and how it’s a significant enough size to be able to provide some good storage. Our cat litter and cat food gets hidden below the trolley, while the lower rack is for laundry items. The upper rack is where our bottles go!
  • We got this traditional Chinese calendar from Chinatown. Quite honestly, we forget to tear past dates pretty often, but it is really satisfying when we do it after a couple of dates in! Fun fact: The calendar also has a little daily segment that tells you according to your Chinese zodiac, the zodiac that you should 'avoid' for the day!
  • Now, above all of our chores, we’ve got our little kitten hammock here, where our cat custodian Mash looks over us. This area is also where his cat tree and litter box is, so safe to say, it’s ‘his’ area!
  • That’s it for the week, folks! A lil cheeky Mash hide n seek pic for yall!
