  • When we were planning the design of our home, we wanted fluted panels all over, include the entryway to cover DB box + build carpentry for shoes and more storage. However, as we were weighing what are the must-haves, we decided to keep things simple for this area and not add any build-ins.
  • We added a faux plant for some liveliness, even though a real plant will be better. But is it worth the risk of having our cat James chew on it? 🤭 The small stool we use sometimes to wear shoes and mostly for holding a lint roller (cat and dog owners, you know) and wet wipes for easy access.
  • While considering whether we should buy a shoe cabinet, we added shelves to the DB box instead to hold our shoes, so as to not waste the spaces. The carpenter from our ID made and installed these shelves, could have gone for 6 shelves but only added 5 so it’s more spacious for each section. As you can see, Ven clearly has way more shoes than Nigel 😂 maybe Ven should take 1 more shelf instead of splitting fairly between to two. You can search on Carousell for sellers who will install shelves like these for you!
  • For the top part of the DB box, two shelves were installed. One of it holds our modem and router, Nigel’s socks and shoe horn. Haven’t decide what to put on the other shelf.
  • On the other side of the door, there’s a decorative circle niche
  • A partition wall has to be added to flush out the wall so that our kitchen door can close fully. Our ID thought why not add a circle niche for a cute touch and it’s not holding some decorative items which all our guests really like 💗 We may add a real plant here too, as James can’t reach it 🤭
