  • Our "LEAVE ME ALONE" space. This is where two introverts (who work in highly social jobs) retreat to when the social batteries need recharging. After returning from a 2 year stint abroad, we did some minor touch-ups, updated the soft furniture, and will be celebrating our 5th year as homeowners come December! A constant work in progress, we're still waiting/intensively shopping every weekend for: our customised TV console, coffee table and rugs! Keep a lookout as this space slowly evolves as the weeks go by. The design theme revolved around the word "calm", and the living room definitely provides that zen space to unwind, sit, read, and even sleep when I win an argument with the wife. Now looking at it, I don't really know why we have track lights there, but it definitely made a lot of sense during renovation.
  • Part of the sofa set was this armchair which is now my official throne. Favourite spot to contemplate and reflect on my meagre bank account :( The neutral tones of the house were chosen to hopefully give it a "timeless" look while bringing with it a peaceful feel. No built-ins was also a conscious decision that enables us to experience different configurations, and keeps things "fresh". The minimalistic approach paired with filtered light aims to create a clean and airy vibe that welcomes and rejuvenates all who enter.
  • We absolutely adore how the sofa from King Living comes with matching cushions in the same fabric that we chose from their seemingly unending options. What sold us was the modular nature of the entire piece that scratches the itch to rearrange furniture layouts every few months. PS. We got it at almost 50% off! Drop a PM and we'll refer our outstanding sales rep!
  • No direct sunlight must have resulted in vitamin deficiency which then led to us completely forgetting to leave space for curtains when doing our false ceiling the first time around. So after moving back in, we called our contractor and rectified it, specially requesting for the curved ending which we feel lends that extra softness to the look and also allows for the floor-to-ceiling curtain look.
  • Thanks for scrolling down and reading so much! As a reward here's a sneak peek into the space adjoining the living room that we can't wait to share with you in our future posts! Comment down below if there's anything you want to know about the renovation, design process or even my favourite boneless chicken rice shop! Do also follow us on Instagram at @29.home!
