  • The kitchen is the heart of all home chef. The husband loves cooking & cooks quite regularly thus we needed a close kitchen to contain all the cooking grease. As we enter from our kitchen door, we are greeted with a U-shaped design that we incorporated due to the chunky pipes present in old HDBs. Glad it turned out this way as the U-shape allows light to enter the kitchen, making the space bright and airy.
  • Prior to designing our kitchen, we wanted to input some designs that we drew inspiration from our search across the months. One of them is the kitchen towel drawer. We like how convenient it is to have the kitchen towel accessible especially when our hands are wet. The little pigeonhole makes it very cute as well in my opinion.
  • We also make sure that there is space for storage of additional kitchen towels at the back so that we do not have to dig for new ones halfway through cooking.
  • Below our kitchen towel drawer is our built-in rubbish bin. We would have preferred it to be a little higher, at hip height, but this still works, just have to bend lower to utilize it. No more plastic bags lying around on the countertop anymore, yay!
  • The bins are also removable, allowing us to bring them to the dining area when we host friends. They could throw their rubbish straight into this bin, very clean and hassle-free.
  • We initially planned for our air fryer to be in this pull-out open space. We even asked our electrician to cater a socket in this area. But unfortunately, we got our measurement wrong and had to give up the space to our rice bucket. 😂 The pull-out is great for when we top up our rice from the top. No need to carry the whole bucket down.
  • Being shorties 😅, the top dish drying rack doesn't work for us. Tip-toeing on a daily basis just doesn't make sense. The wife searched for ideas and we settled for a dish rack just beside the sink. This definitely makes washing the dishes struggle-free. The top section space is a little wasted though. Might revamp it a little when ideas strike.
  • Last but not least, our laundry area. We didn't separate it from the kitchen as we wanted a bigger overall space. With the Taobao rack, vertical space above the washing machine is not wasted. We put our extra laundry stuff in them 😊 We also built a tall cabinet to store our clothes steamer, floor rug, extra hangers, and other miscellaneous items. Hope you enjoy touring our kitchen ❤️
