  • Welcome to our service yard / laundry area - also known as the extension of our kitchen. While one side of the service yard has our usual laundry corner, the other side acts as an additional space for us to place our appliances.
  • We had big dreams of a laundry corner / laundry room in our Pinterest board but being first time homeowners, it wasn’t a priority and all we had in mind is save on carpentry unless necessary. But thinking back, we do regret not having enough storage at certain areas. We found these wooden planks on Taobao and they were enough to let us store the laundry pods and cloths pegs while still maintaining the astethics
  • We opted for an open service yard so that our kitchen area extends to this corner. We had to make use of furniture that was durable enough for some storage and daily used appliances placed here. This trolley serves as our countertop and kitchen cabinet at the same time but out of sight from the main kitchen area to keep our kitchen uncluttered. Most of our dry and canned food are stored in the bomb shelter, but this also serves as a quick storage for things like instant noodles. Ramyeon anyone?
  • We were lucky that our service yard doesn’t face the lift lobby or corridor so we didn’t opt for frosted windows. We also enjoy a good amount of sunlight every morning if we’re up early to do the laundry. If not, our trusty Steigen will do the job. This was one of the most important buys as we eventually realised that we don’t wake up early enough for the morning sun, which is the direction our service yard is facing. We also didn’t have to worry about adhoc washes
