Greetings, dear visitor! Welcome to abodefur3, where we are absolutely thrilled to have been invited for season 4. We can't wait to share snippets of our theme-less abode alongside other amazing ambassadors and their stunning homes! Now, let's dive right into the fun, shall we? This happens to be our very first home together, ruled by our feline overlord, who we affectionately refer to as our MeowBoss. Hence, the IG handle @abodefur3. Purr-etty fitting, don't you think?😹 Let's dive into the heart of the matter! Our Humble Abode is a 5i resale unit, standing strong since the groovy 1980s. We made some adjustments to the original design and layout of the unit to showcase our personal style. One of the most thrilling modifications we made was customizing the main door to perfectly align with our desired length, shape, and colour. It's a feature that adds a touch of individuality and charm to our home. So, without further ado, come along and join us for a mini house tour!
As you take your first step into our humble abode, prepare to be welcomed by none other than the chic floor mat from the fabulous folks at Hipvan! HELLO dear visitor! 👋 With a daring leap of faith, we boldly chose to shift the main door further in, transforming the balcony area into a unique entryway. Not only does it grants us the luxury of privacy but also allows for a delightful breeze to waft through even when the door is left ajar. And why, you may ask, did we make this choice? Well, it was all for the sake of our feline overlord, who now enjoys easy access to step out onto the entryway for his daily stretch and to exchange pleasantries with the birds. Moreover, this arrangement affords him the opportunity to discreetly assess our dear neighbours whenever he so desires😼
Before we proceed to explore other sections of the house, we would like to share with you the floor plan for our unit. One of our primary considerations during the house hunting process was to find a space with a layout that was free from any awkward or peculiar arrangements. This was essential to ensure that we had the flexibility to modify or remove certain areas or walls in order to optimize specific zones according to our preferences. We made the decision to raise the walls in the balcony area, enabling us to shift the main door further inward. Additionally, we extended the entrance to the kitchen, resulting in a more spacious opening. In order to create a larger living area, we chose to remove the study room. Lastly, we sealed off the original entrance to the master bedroom and created a new opening adjacent to the common room. Now, let us proceed with the mini house tour, shall we?
Thanks to the endless inspiration of Pinterest, we decided to infuse the space with a vibrant pop of colour, painting both the walls and part of the ceiling to create an eye-catching ambience. Our dining set, customized from Taobao, exceeded our wildest expectations. The impeccable workmanship and attention to detail left us in awe, and we couldn't be happier with the final result. Not only did it fulfil our specific requests, but it also saved us a considerable amount of money!😸

Welcome to our culinary haven, where we unleash our inner master chefs😹 Just kidding! When it came to designing our kitchen, we opted for a simple design and look. Thus, we made the decision to have open shelving instead of traditional upper cabinets, ensuring effortless maintenance and a clutter-free space. By limiting our storage capacity, we cleverly deter ourselves from indulging in unnecessary cookware shopping sprees😸 But that's not all! We positioned our dish rack right beside the sink, allowing us to place our freshly washed dishes within arm's reach. No more awkwardly stretching or stumbling across the kitchen with slippery plates in hand. It's all about convenience and efficiency in this kitchen! 🍽️✨
Here's the other side of the kitchen.We kept it simple and chose a tall unit and drawers that provide ample space for storing appliances, dry provisions, and snacks. It's all about simplicity and functionality, with no unnecessary frills!
As mentioned, we extended the entrance to our kitchen, creating a spacious opening. This improvement not only ensures that we won't be constantly bumping into each other, but it also grants us the freedom to move around without any pesky restrictions. This modification grants us unrestricted movement, particularly when we find ourselves hosting large gatherings during those delightful festive seasons. P/s: We now have an abundance of space to dance like nobody's watching, all while our favourite beats serenade us in the background as we effortlessly cook up a storm without the pesky inconvenience of getting in each other's way😽
Just like our kitchen concept, we were determined to maintain a minimalistic approach in our living room, avoiding any built-in carpentry. Currently, we haven't settled on a specific theme, but we have a strong intuition that we might want to switch up the furniture in the coming years. By avoiding built-in carpentry in this space, we're ensuring a hassle-free transformation whenever the mood strikes us 😺
By removing the study area, we have successfully created a more spacious living environment. The new space has allowed us to welcome a super comfy sliding backrest sofa, customized to fit the area purrfectly. Even our feline overlord gives it a resounding paw of approval!😺 Now, we can indulge in delightful movie nights, snuggled up in this cozy haven, or unwind after a dreadful case of Monday blues or an exhausting week.
