Welcome to Mister E's favourite corner of the house, his mancave and workspace! P.s This is also the space where he has all the freedom to design and display whatever he wants because it is all enclosed and will not interfere with our overall house theme HEHEHEH In this area, we transformed our bedroom into a dual-purpose space and combined a mancave and workspace. In doing so, this offers the best of both worlds: a personal haven for relaxation and a productive environment for getting work done. Here are four things we did to strive to strike this balance:
1. Zone The Space In our bedroom, we have three zones- sleeping zone (no work zone), wardrobe zone as well as Mister's work zone & mancave. To define the mancave zone, we used the laminates with doors to visually separate this area from the rest of the zones. Even the walls and floor tiles are all black cause Mister E says the darker, the better (to which I do not agree haha!)
2. Personalising The Space In this mancave, Mister E displayed all his loves. Every corner is filled with his favourites. Favourite anime characters, marvel figurines, favourite marvel posters downright to his favourite Iron Man which comes in the form of his work chair. As this place is enclosed, we deliberately placed the Airleo portable aircon so as to provide air circulation and comfort when Mister E is working here.
3. Lighting Matters In the mancave, we installed LED lights in the shelves to showcase Mister E's figurines that he has collected (and is still collecting) over the years. We love how the dimmer ambient lighting creates a laid-back and gallery look-alike atmosphere.
Same mancave but different vibe with just a switch. Here, this white lighting is used when Mister E has some serious work business to do here. This well-lit work area definitely can help boost productivity.
4. Keeping It Organised Presenting to you Mister E's workspace. Though it is small, we love how functional it is. Mister E utilised the space behind to keep the wires out of the way. We absolutely love how this helps to keep this space clutter free.
In conclusion, we feel that creating a mancave that doubles as a workstation in our bedroom is the perfect way to blend productivity with personal enjoyment. It allows Mister to have a space to focus on work, while also being able to unwind and indulge in his hobbies, such as displaying and enjoying his figurine collection. By zoning the bedroom space, optimizing furniture, and maintaining organisation, one can strike the ideal balance between work and play. This setup not only enhances one's productivity but also offers a creative and personal retreat within the comfort of your own room.
Alright time to close the mancave because Mister E needs to hide out in his secret cave as he caves for his manly me-time HAHAHA. Ciaos!
