  • Welcome to our home entryway, easily the most colorful spot in our home🎨! Since it's the first thing we see when we walk through the door, we wanted it to feel inviting and cheerful - setting a positive tone every time we come home.
  • BEFORE: This space originally didn't came with the unit - it was the corridor outside, which the previous owners left untouched. For us, it was an easy decision to purchase this recess area and make it part of our home, giving us extra space.
  • AFTER: Built windows and tiled up the area to create this entryway that welcomes us home every day :)
  • BEFORE: The kitchen area (which situated just beside the corridor) was closed off by a fully tiled wall. Purchasing the recess area allowed us to knock down this wall, creating a brighter and more airy space.
  • AFTER: To maintain the bright and airy feel, we opted for an open kitchen right next to the entryway (yes, you step straight into the kitchen when you enter our home!). We also chose vibrant laminates to enhance the playful, welcoming vibe of the space.
  • We demarcated the two areas with different tiles, choosing patterned ones for the entryway to contrast the grey tiles used in the kitchen and throughout the rest of the home. We love how the patterned tiles stand out, while the subtle grey tones within them still tie in nicely with our grey flooring.
  • Meanwhile this shoe cabinet from Taobao complements the pinks in the patterned tiles.
  • Slowly filling up the space above the shoe cabinet with things we love.
  • This light was another Taobao find which we thought would blend in nicely with the patterned tiles, as well as the green laminates. For a warmer and more cohesive look, we also added wooden blinds for the windows along the entryway.
  • One lovely surprise from the blinds is the patterns they cast on our door and floor at different times of the day. One of our resident mews seems to be a fan of these shadow displays as she's often found lounging in the area whenever there's light 😊
