Japandi is a style of interior design that combines Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics. It's characterised by a minimalist yet welcoming style that emphasises natural materials, functionality, and simplicity. This design is made “luxe” through the use of high-quality materials, refined aesthetics, and carefully curated elements. Start by researching for Japandi designs (which are more common), and think about the “luxe” elements you can add on. For example, we included marble and gold elements. Hipvan/Communa, Instagram and Pinterest are great resources to get some inspiration! Colours: Opt for a netural colour palette. If you’d like to include wood elements, choose one that is lighter with less grains. As much as possible, choose appliances that go with your colour palette. Soft lines: We love the look of curves and added it to almost every part of our home, as it adds interest without being too loud. Arches are incorporated throughout our home as well! Textures: Explore using different textures to elevate your home. For example, we have boucle fabric pieces to add some texture to our master bedroom. Faux flowers are an easy and cost-effective way to add some texture as well! IG: @robertslewzaijia
