This is where conversation happens whenever we have guests over in our home. We placed both the dining table and kitchen island together to give the illusion of an elongated space, and the island also provides extra seating for when we have bigger groups of guests. 
Even though we have a study table, I often find myself working from the dining table as I like how natural light flows through the house in the day time.
