When designing our home , we knew we wanted our dining area to be a multi-functional space. So we got a really long 2m table where it can comfortably sit 6 people (7 if we add a chair at the end). We also joined our dining table with a kitchen island that’s 1.3m. This adds more seating space for guests if we have a huge group. Big meals or small - we love how spacious this dining table is. The kitchen island is also my breakfast counter where I enjoy a quick breakfast before work. This area also doubles up as a work station. This is where I camp out most days when I WFH with my laptop. I love how accessible this is to the fridge and water dispenser. This is also where we play and host our regular board games sessions with friends! Or turn down the lights for a chill night over wine and good conversations. One tip will be to install dimmable lights at your dining area so you can switch down the lights for a wine bar vibe. We also have our wine chiller under our kitchen island - super accessible for the second , third, fourth bottles… A tip if you don’t want to spend too much on a built-in wine chiller is to just cater a space when planning your carpentry so you can slot a standing one in :)
