  • Welcome back, it's Anna from @aiyacanna again :) This week we are deep-diving into our dining area, this is a space where time seems to go by just a little slower. Because we usually sit here only after a long day of work or on a weekend morning when we have the luxury of time to make a nice brunch for ourselves.
  • This is a 165x85cm table from Nitori and we did consider if we wanted to get a longer table to host our families and friends, but because it's just both of us on most days, we decided that this size would be more than enough. This table sits 6 comfortably but I think we managed to have 10 people on the same table previously by adding in some spare stools
  • The table surface uses solid wood, and we love the smoothness of the surface, the sides are also gently rounded so it does not cause discomfort even when we lean our arms against the table (no ugly imprints yay!!)
  • We chose these chairs from Nitori as well, I still remember my husband and I trying almost all the chairs in Nitori, and the moment we sat on this chair, we did not want to get up anymore haha. We love the elbowrests, and we want our guests to feel comfortable sitting at the dining table while we catch up on life. The fabric cover is also removable so we can wash them regularly :)
  • Always remember to have power sockets near your dining area! Very useful for steamboats or bbqs at home, also can double up as a work station.
  • Equally important is a fan, because we do not switch on the air con all the time, so this corner fan helps to keep us cool while dining. This fan blends in well with our home as it has walnut and black elements as well, and the fan speed is rather strong too.
  • I bought these pendant lights because they reminded me of little Ninjas with hats haha, also with the same walnut wood elements.
  • This is what it looks like even if it's gloomy outside, or in the evening/night. We make sure that the space still looks inviting and cosy.
  • Since our dining area is right behind the sofa, we have direct access to our TV, so the husband and I can catch up on our shows together while having our meals. We are currently watching Queen of Tears by the way!
  • We are blessed to have an unblocked view in our living/dining area and somehow it just lifts my mood when I look at the skies and the greens. Here's a reminder to head outside, and take in the beauty around us. It's the weekend and wishing all of you an awesome one! See you next week :)
