  • We used approximately about 5 types of light throughout the house. Most of which are LED strip lights and LED down lights. There are a mix of yellow and white light, but more than 90% of white are yellow, due to our preferences.
  • A beautiful home without property lighting will not shine through. So we believe lighting plays a pivotal role in creating the ambiance of our home. Bright, harsh white lights can sometimes feel sterile or too intense, especially in spaces meant for relaxation like the living room or bedroom. On the other hand, soft, warm yellow light brings a sense of coziness and calm.
  • Ambient light is a soft, general lighting and we use throughout the house. We use can-shaped lights on solid ceilings and these recessed LED lights that flush into the false ceiling throughout the home. We also think consistency is key to keeping the house looking nice and neat. These lights are super functional and the warm yellow tones create the relaxed and cozy vibe that we want.
  • Task lighting is all about helping you get stuff done. And I personally prefer white light for task lighting, as it allows me to focus on my work. Therefore, white light is found directly above the study table, and is the only 2 white light in the entire house. Another form of task light is one above the vanity table in the master bedroom. However, for aesthetic purposes, we use yellow light for this area.
  • Finally, accent lights are the stars of the show. Our favorite part of the house is the living room / study, and it is framed by these LED strip lights. Accent lighting doesn’t just illuminate—it emphasizes certain parts of the home, creating drama and interest. As such, we always turn on this light, whenever we have guests over, to highlight this section of our home.
