Hello! We bought a 4-room resale flat and transformed it from a seemingly gloomy house into a brighter abode 😎 Here are some of the things we did: 1. White paint — Repainted the walls and ceilings in white, so that light can reflect and make our living space look brighter. 2. Light-coloured floor tiles — Chose light-coloured floor tiles, which reflect light and help to brighten up the space. 3. Clear windows without grilles — Decided to do away with window grilles so as to allow maximum amount of light to pass through the clear windows. It makes cleaning a lot easier as well (say goodbye to dust on window grilles 👋🏻)! 4. Translucent roller blinds — Opted for translucent roller blinds as they allow light to filter through, while still providing privacy. 
5. Placement of mirror — Positioned a large mirror on the wall opposite our living room windows to reflect inbound sunlight around the room, amplifying natural lighting and creating a bright atmosphere. 
Before: Notice how gloomy the previous house seemed even though it was daytime and the lights were turned on. Hope you will find these tips useful, as much as they were for us! ☺️
