  • Our living room was the last section of the house to be ready, because most of the marble that needed to be fixed was in the living room. Must say it was really well worth the wait!
  • The previous owner left this as the kids’ bedroom. We knew early on that we wanted to hack the wall of this room to make the flow between the living, dining and kitchen seamless. Hacking the wall of this room also gave us more room to play around with different configurations of our living room.
  • Because we don’t watch much TV, we made the unconventional decision not to get one at all. We bought ourselves a projector instead — so that we could still watch shows if we wanted to, without having a black screen be a permanent feature of the living room.
  • We decided to go with a sectional sofa so that we could play around with different configurations of our living room.
  • We toyed with the option of pulling out the middle price as a standalone ottoman! But later decided to keep all three pieces in one row, so that the ottoman wouldn’t stand in the way of the walking path.
  • The living room gets quite lovely morning sun, so we’ve moved most of our plants out to the console and coffee table for a bath!
  • Anyone else also decided not to have any built ins for their living room? We’re always on the lookout for more ideas to switch around the layout, so hit us with ideas!
